White Cross Vets Wolverhampton

My nan and grandads cat was unfortunately ran over. He was brought to this vets. They treated him with a lot of care. He was held over night for my grandparents and wrapped in a blanket. No charge. When collecting him, the lady at reception was incredible. She had so much care and compassion. She was really wonderful to my grandad. We asked if we could pay, and they said no. We are very grateful. It was heartbreaking for my nan and grandad, but you guys made that heartbreak just a bit easier. Thank you for taking care of Monty ❤️

Unfortunately, I left my recent appointment with very little confidence in the assessment my dog received. Bonnie was weighed at the practice at 23.6 kg, but the vet had initially been given an incorrect weight of 25.6 kg by reception and told me she was overweight. I corrected the weight, but was still told that her ideal weight should be 21 kg. What concerned me most was that no Body Condition Score assessment was carried out before giving such a specific target. Her ribs, waist and overall body condition were not assessed. Bonnie has maintained a weight of around 23 kg for a considerable time, so I would have expected her individual body condition to be properly assessed before being advised that she should lose more than 10% of her current weight. I had also asked about some brown/black staining and roughness on Bonnie's teeth following a teeth-cleaning treatment elsewhere. The vet said her teeth were healthy and clean, that I was doing a good job caring for them and should continue what I was doing. She considered the staining cosmetic. However, I wasn't reassured by the examination of the roughness I could feel. The vet initially felt the teeth through a glove and said she couldn't feel anything. After I explained that I could feel it with my nail, she removed the glove, felt the tooth again with her fingertip and said what I was feeling was the surface of plaque. I didn't feel this adequately answered my concern about the change in the tooth's surface. The remainder of the physical examination consisted of listening to Bonnie with a stethoscope and feeling her abdomen. My poor review isn't because I was told something I didn't want to hear, and the vet did say Bonnie's teeth were healthy. It's because the consultation as a whole felt cursory and left me questioning the basis for some of the advice I was given. The incorrect weight, a specific weight-loss target without a Body Condition Score assessment, and the limited examination of the issue I'd brought her in about left me feeling that I hadn't received the thorough professional assessment I was paying for. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

All the staff are very friendly and at tentative to my dog Berties needs as he has many health issues. They always fit him in for an appointment and he loves going to the vets and seeing his friends.

Recently rejoined the vets due to a problem with my dogs teeth. All staff were very caring and helpful. The place was very clean and well organised. The treatment was well done with a very high level of care and professionalism. Charges are no worse than anywhere else and they offer a monthly discount scheme which takes the sting out of expensive treatments. A great vets!
